A BLEEDING-HEART LIBERTARIAN IN AMERICA'S DAIRYLAND

1.3.26: War at Home Becomes War Abroad

The Midwest, and all America, awoke today to the news that Trump had ordered an attack on Venezuela and the abduction of its ruler.[1]

No one should have been surprised.

This attack and abduction in Venezuela did not stem from Trump's desire to halt the flow of drugs into America.

This attack and abduction in Venezuela did not stem from Trump's desire for oil.

This attack and abduction in Venezuela did not stem from Trump's ludicrous claim that he will properly run that country; he cannot run our own country except into the ground.

This attack and abduction in Venezuela did not stem from the scheming of America's Secretary of State, no matter how long-standing his obsession for Caribbean regime changes.

This attack and abduction in Venezuela did not stem from the bellicosity of America's Secretary of War Defense, no matter how flamboyant.

This attack and abduction in Venezuela did not stem from the mere presence of American warships in that region, no matter how formidable the armada.

Trump's war began within America's borders on 1.20.25. It was not, however, his executive order of 1.20.25 Designating Cartels and Other Organizations as Foreign Terrorist Organizations and Specially Designated Global Terrorists that began this conflict. It was another executive order, signed that same day, that began this war: Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing.

This attack and abduction in Venezuela stems from the indifference and hostility that Trump and his base (the most committed of the committed) harbor against others not of their race, ethnicity, language, or orientation.

Trump has simply expanded this same war, begun on a domestic front, to a foreign front.
